Interesting news on Intel Capitals $250 Million venture fund in India. It has put money in three companies in India.
1. MobiApps - Bangalore based company. Focused on terrestrial and satellite technologies for commercial communications! Some cutting edge stuff on architecture for satellite communication.
2. Persistent Systems - Outsourced Product Development! Interestingly, they acquired Controlnet, a product start-up from Goa. I did happen to meet the founders, when I was doing my MBA there. With Newpath and Gabriel Ventures also funding this company, Persistent Systems will be closely watched as the next Infosys in the product space.
3. Maya Entertainment - Computer animation company - High Growth & High potential. Talent Acquisition a major challenge in this Industry. If they get their back-end delivery team right, then a company to watch out for!!
VC / PE money is definitley poring into India. Hope the momentum is maintained!
Have a great weekend!
